Well, it can't be avoided because if this thing want to came, it will came regardless time, place, & surrounding condition. Anyway, I'm will try my best to write blog that will entertaining y'all.

Let's start now.

First of all, all of us are gather in main meeting room at level 3 of MJIIT bulding because that is the venue where the talk will be conducted. Ah, I forgot to tell y'all that this week we are having another talk just like last week. The talk is about Canon Opto (Malaysia) industry. But no worries, I will tell y'all about the talk later.

At 9 o'clock, Dr Kamal enter the room. He informed us that the talk will start at 9.30 a.m. We still have 30 minutes free times hence Dr Kamal take this opportunity to remind us about our group's assignment. Dr Kamal ask have we download the group name and its marks rubric document inside the e-learning page? Dr Kamal believes that not all of us has download the document so he make a decision to print out the document and spread to each representative group member. Dr Kamal ask more have we met our group member & start discussed about the poster title? Many of us say no. Some us of plan to do the poster after mid-break. Dr Kamal added that we always can prefer poster at level 2 to get our poster look inside our mind. He also said that he doesn't expect a high quality poster from us. He just expect the experience of the 1st year student because not all of us have deep knowledge about our title & knew how to make a great poster.

Then Dr Kamal ask us have we met our personal advisor to ask & discussed with him about our poster title? About the method of representation, we will paste the poster around MJIIT building stand by its side. Lecturers and our seniors will come at the poster exhibition and ask us several questions about the poster. Dr Kamal said he will try to discuss with the deputy dean  to give prize for the best poster. Starting this week until the day of representation, Dr Kamal hope that we use Internet wisely. Focus on the assignment. If can, for a while stop using Internet for anime, manga, Korean shows & drama, etc. After finished what need to be said, Dr Kamal call the speaker to enter the room.

Our speaker enter the room. Dr Kamal then gave a little briefing about our speaker. His name is Muhammad Azlan bin Amran.

His position in the Canon Opto (Malaysia) is Senior General Manager. He also has been with Canon Opto (Malaysia) since the year of 1990. Then Dr Kamal invite Mr Azlan to begin with his talk. Mr Azlan started with a greeting by using his loud voice, not using microphone. Mr Azlan said the reason why he don't want to use microphone because he wanted to show us that he always in a high spirit. Firstly, he explain more about himself. He was study about Electronic System related to Industry Automation. He also mention that he and Dr Kamal was graduated from the same university in Japan so the have the senpai-kohai relationship. He told us Dr Kamal call him to give talk about the Canon Opto (Malaysia) isndustry so as kohai, he can't reject his senpai request. Mr Azlan also reveal that before this, Dr Kamal used to work in CO(M) but then he decided to further his study in Master and PhD level hence he work as lecturer after that. Mr Azlan then told us about the 4th year students in Japan university. In Japan, all 4th year student will start seeking for a job. The intention of this is they want to get job agreement so that after their study is finished, immediately they will have job.

Mr Azlan continue with Canon's Corporate  Philosophy which is Kyosei. Kyosei is not a japanese word. It was created by the CO(M) foundation. This one word was a combination from two words which are "Kyo" which means "together" and "Sei" which means "living". Hence, we can say that Kyosei means "living together".

Then, Mr Azlan told us a little about CO(M) products. At 1989, CO(M) produces spherical lens & penta prism.

Mr Azlan added that a higher version of digital dslr camera use penta prism.

Example of Canon dslr camera

Mr Azlan continue his talk which is in the products assembly building,  the workers in there produces Canon Powershot Series cameras and interchangeable lens.

Interchangeable lens

If we want to record a video using dslr camera, we need to check the lens used because sound from snap picture, zooming lens can enter the recording. Hence, we need to use a better lens that prevent this unnecessary sound to enter our video recording. That's what Canon do, to produce this type of lens. At first Mr Azlan working with CO(M), he told us that he was involve in making the film camera.

Next, Mr Azlan introduced the latest Canon product which is EF 40mm f/2.8 STM.

This lens was created by combining two lenses and it use GMo asphorical lens element. Here is it specs.

Even this latest product is just out at the market, they are urge to produce another product because the competition with other company is fierce hence the lifespan of a product is reduce from time to time.

Next, Mr Azlan show us the manufacturing company rules in the product life cycle. You can see the arrangement below:

EQCD. It is a code that make CO(M) workers are full of integrity and full of discipline.
E is Environment. The products that was made need to be ensured that it will not damage earth environment.
Q stands for Quality. All products produced must meet the factory quality.
C for Cost. To determine the cost needed to make a product, they need to get the price of the product on the market first. Then the price they will divide to three. Hence, the cost to make a product is one per third of its price in market.
D is Delivery. The workers need to make sure that the products are deliver on time to the market so that the customer can get the Canon product that they want.

Mr Azlan continue more. He said to company, they want to make a product that easy to produce and with most cheapest price. For that, they will create a prototype for a product that they want to make. The prototype will be put in the middle of a table. Then about 20 engineers will look at it and discussed what need to be done so that the actual product will be better.

For products that need to sell to other country, it need to achieve other country standard because they also want to keep their environment safe. Time is an essence to produce products. Engineers are hired with high pay so that they can produce product in time given by company.

Next, Mr Azlan showed to us the manufacturing company roles in the product life cycle:

To produce a camera, various type of engineer is needed such as mechanical, software, & electronic engineer.
Mr Azlan then give us advice : In work, work hard is not important. The main thing is, work done in time.
If we want to learn more about lens making, Mr Azlan suggest us to visit this website. Y'all also can visit it too and watch for yourself how lens is created.

After that, Mr Azlan told us the Japanese work culture. They hold this one word while work which is
"HORENSO".

HO is comes from Houkaku which means report. Doing report might be the most important soft skill that we need in work. If can, beat boss deadline/expectations. One more important thing, in job, report begins with conclusion because our boss doesn't have much time to hear our long story about the report.

REN is comes from Renraku which means contact. When we give information to our boss such as an accident occur at the factory, we need to give him the actual information including what, when, where, & who.

SO is comes from Soudan which means Consultation. We can't just working all year without having any consultation with our boss because large stress will bulk inside ourself. Hence, we need to find a time to have consultation with our boss. Make appointment with him/her. When your times come, discuss with your boss what's your problem in work? Maybe you have problems with other colleague or maybe with your boss. Just  say what you want at that time. After done talking, your stress may vanished slowly.

Then Mr Azlan a little bit more. The thing he talk about not only for himself, but for his workers and we too must have this in our heart. He told us about "San-Gen" which mean 3 Gen.

First gen : GENBA mean if anything happen such as accident, we ourselves need to go to see what happen. We can't ask other people to look for us.

Second gen : GENBUTSU mean actual thing. We need to see the accident with our very own eyes.

Third gen : GENJITSU mean reality. We need to determine by ourselves whether the accident is reality or not.

Lastly, Mr Azlan us something quite funny but it is important so that people who have high position in work know the meaning of humble, respect, & good hygiene. He said that workers who hold position senior manager position and above, after lunch time they need to sweep the corridor.

Then we have a little Q&A session and after that, the talk end. Mr Azlan are very pleased to welcome us to visit CO(M). After that, Dr Kamal give a little souvenir to Mr Azlan and Dr Kamal reconfirm our attendance because the name write in the paper are not fit at the real namelist. Afterwards, class end.

Here I show you several pictures that was taken during the talk :

All stand by for the talk to begin.

Give full attention while hearing the talk.

Mr Azlan with his fiery spirit when giving the talk.

They were so happy because the talk is fun.

Alright, its time to close this week's blog. Supposely it will be longer but I need to skip some points because like I said earlier, my condition is not so good this week.
