Hallo ihr lieben. This week we welcome greet from Germany. How are y'all today? Still in good shape? I hope so. Well, this week is the most excited week for Introduction to Electronic System program because we are having our industrial visit. We are visiting the Canon Opto (Malaysia) (COM) Sdn Bhd. From my previous blog, I've told y'all about we are having talk about COM from its Senior General Manager, Mr Azlan. But this week, we are visiting COM. But there is one disapointment in this visit which is Mr Azlan can't manage to see us & be together with us whole the time we are having at COM. I like him a lot in terms of respect, his way of talking, his fluency on speaking English, his knowledge & lastly, his style. In this visit there are two lectures that follow us as our guardian. They are Dr Redzuan which y'all know and another one is Dr Muzahidul Islam, my lecturer from Programming for Engineers program.

In the morning, all of us should gather at the bus parking lot at 7.30 a.m. but I was late. I thought I will miss this trip but luckily, they waited for me to come. It was quite a chaos to me that morning. With having no breakfast, I rush to the bus and enter it. Then around 8 o'clock, the bus started to move. Because of some people like me who is late plus the driver have some trouble finding the exact route to COM, we arrived there a little late from the schedule. We arrived at COM around 9.45 a.m. if I'm not mistaken.
Finally, I've manage to put my feet at COM. Above are some pictures of front part of COM buliding. Before entering the buliding, we are ask to wait for a while because COM worker want to take everypone pictures together. They want to have a picture of their visitor. I show you some pictures while we are waiting for the preparation of everyone together picture.
All of them really wait patiently.
Then we are entering its lobby. At there we were ask keep quiet because at that time, the COM superiors are having meeting. We also need to wait for a while at the lobby for the people in-charge to leading us throughout this visit to come. Then, almost all of us use this time to snap several pictures for memorial (including me too).

Next, all of us are bring to & enter the briefing room. The COM worker show us on slide the agenda of the day. Then she give the microphone to Mr Huzaini. I don't remember what position he has in COM but I know its not a low position. He told us a little bit about COM profile.

After briefing session, all of us are taken on a walking around COM. First place that we go to is the Water Treatment Plant. Mr Huzaini told us the COM main policy about its environment activity which is :

Next, Mr Huzaini bring us to waste minimisation centre. He explain that all waste chemical from production come here. From Canon policy, waste product can't be taken out from the factory to ask other factory to treat it. Canon factory itself need to treat its waste product.
Next, we moved to New Recycle Waste Yard/Bin Centre. The uniqueness in this centre is it has carbonizer machine. The carbonizer machine use heating element to transform the general waste into carbonized form. This process does not emit any hazardous gaseous. This centre also is a collection centre of solid waste.

After that, we stop at Tube Well Treatment Plant. Then all of return to the briefing room.
When we enter the briefing a room, on our seats a pair of blue plastic has been put on it. Most of us thought it was a hair cover. Actually, it is a shoes cover. We've been ask to hold it first. At upstairs then we will wear it because right now is the time for main event, touring the Camera Assembly Area. At upstairs, after all of us has wear the shoes cover, we are divided to 3 groups. As for my group, our tour guide is Mr Hamid. For your information, at this area, taking pictures are strictly prohibited hence, there is no pictures for y'all to see inside the area. I'm sorry y'all, I just follow the rule.
While we are inside the area, Mr Hamid told us that product was done base on request. Canon will not ask its workers to make product that was not request because this is for prevent waste. If sales are drop, the workers will need to be refreshed again about the rules in work, the worker pledge, etc. Before we enter the Camera Assembly Area, we need to go through metal detector. This is for prevent the worker from bring in or out things that shouldn't they bring inside the area and vice versa.
Canon's digital camera has three types which are G, SX, and EXUS. Among this three, SX is the second best (because at that time Mr Hamid are showing us the SX model). Then Mr Hamid explain to us about electronic flash (EF) lens. Then Mr Hamid bring us to some black platform. The black platform is used to determine the picture sharpness (digital touei). On the black platform, it has a pattern and the pattern is formed from a arrangement of fine lines. If the picture that was snap from a camera can see each fine line, it shows that the camera can produce sharp picture. If can't, they need to rebuild the camera.To test the camera's pictures, they need to do it from 3 position :
1) normal
2) grip up
3) grip down
After finish touring, we return to briefing room to have the closing ceremony which is Canon give souvenirs to the lecturers & students. Also we have speech from student representative to give opinion about these visit.

After that all of us moved to cafeteria to eat lunch that COM has provided to us. They served us chicken rice. It was indeed delicious.
After finish eating, we moved to the bus. It's time to go home. It was fun activity. I got many knowledge from this visit. Hope someday I can come here again. We arrived at college around 2 p.m. All of us feel so exhausted.
