Week 2 : Schedule Division & Field Trip Coalition

Assalamualaikum & Salam Sejahtera.

Ola! Are you in a good shape today? I hope so because if not, how you gonna read this week blog???

Let's continue from the last week.
This week Dr Redzuan was the one who in charge in the class. He said he doesn't want to do class. When we heard that, everyone shouting "hoorayy!!".....but Dr Redzuan not let us go that easily. Instead of doing class, he wanted to give more briefing about this 'Introduction to Electronic System Engineering' course.

First, he started with telling us there will be different lecturers that will teach us. All the lecturers have different week period. Like in the first week which mean last week, Dr Kamal was the one who in charge. For thuis week until 8 week, Dr Redzuan will be the one that teach us. After mid-break, Dr Azran will take the reins of learning.

Next, Dr Redzuan revealed to us the title of the topic that we gonna learn.
1st topic : Basic Electronic
2nd topic : Software (mulitisim & ultiboard)
3rd topic : Electronic Project
4th topic : Electric Household

For multisim & ultiboard, each of that sub topic need 3 hours. Because of the massive numbers of students in our class, we are divided into 2 groups. We are divided into 2 group because the computer lab can't accommodate our vast number. Then, we adjust our time table so that each group can do 2nd topic in the same day. We need 4 weeks to finish 2nd topic and the two groups take turns each week which group will have to come early.

Of course in anywhere & anyplace in this world, when there is a group, they must have the pact leader. There was 3 leader that was appointed :
                                                            i) group 1's leader
                                                            ii) group 2's leader
                                                            iii) whole class's leader

With that settle, we move to our last discussion : the field trip.
The field trip will be held in weekdays but the date is still to be confirmed. Dr Redzuan said that all the expenses for the field trip will be covered by UTM because it was included in the subject.
Like last year students, they visit Canon factory. So Dr Redzuan said if we want to go to other factory, we need to contact that factory to ask their permission for the visit. Then Dr Redzuan add up some more. He said we also can make another field trip to visit factory or oil platform that placed outside Kuala Lumpur on weekend. But to go to the extra field trip, we need to organize the trip by ourselves such as the permission to visit, transport, accommodation, etc.

Hence, we arrive at the conclusion for this week blog. That's all that we discussed in class for this week. I'm so sorry that there is no photos for this week blog because I forgot to take them. Week 1 : The Old Tradition & Revitalizing Memory

Assalamualaikum & selamat sejahtera.

Hooray!! My new class start today. Live in university sure is different than live in matriculation. Anyway, as long as my two legs can stand, that's mean I can adapt in this university life.

Well, let's cut to the chase. 
I'm gonna tell you what I learn today at Electronic System Engineering class. This is my first class for this course. Because of the massive number of the students in our program, we are divided into 2 sections. But in this course, these 2 sections are combined together. Our lecturer name is Dr. Kamal. For starting, he ask all of us to stand up one by one, tell us our names, graduated from where, our origin, and why we chose this course. Dr. Kamal make this activity so that all of us will know each other and to know which of us has the confidence to speak in public. Y'all know this activity right? Simply said like 'Ice breaking'. Hahahaha.

We have a little break after that. After break, Dr Kamal ask us to answer some questions about electronic system. I think he wanted to know whether are we still remember about what learn after about 4 months long holiday. Here are the questions and  answer :

1) Draw a simple electric system:

 

     Answer :

2) Find R equivalent.

    Answer :

Req = R || R = (R*R)/(R+R) = (R^2)/(2R) = R/2 

 

  3) i. Draw a sinusoidal wave.

      ii. Show in the wave :

          - amplitude

          - time period

          - peak voltage

     Answer :

    iii. What is peak voltage?

        

        Answer: The highest level of volts giving from an alternating current.

    iv. What is frequency?

 

        Answer : The number of occurrences of a repeating event per unit time.

    v.  What is the relation between frequency and period?

 

        Answer:  Inversely proportional

While answering the questions, Dr. Kamal show us  a video about 'Teaching Teaching & Understanding Understanding'.
